Prevention of In Vitro Fertilization Twins Should Focus on Maximizing Single Embryo Transfer

For many years, Dr. Garzo has been an advocate for elective single embryo transfer (eSET—transferring just one embryo at a time) because it minimizes the risks associated with twins and higher-order multiple births. He is passionate about helping couples have one healthy baby at a time and educating his patients. In a recent article published in the journal Fertility & Sterility, Dr. Garzo, along with Dr. Anja Pinborg and Dr. Brad Van Voorhis, lay out the arguments for eSET.

At Reproductive Partners Fertility Center, our goal is to help patients build families, one healthy baby at a time. We find that many patients come to us without a full understanding of risks associated with multiple pregnancies, but after counseling and learning about the higher rates of success we’re now seeing with eSET, most choose single embryo transfer. Dr. Garzo’s statements in the article—click on the link below—explain further why we have adopted this policy.
