This July, the Hotel Del Coronado will host hundreds of medical professionals from around the world for the 31st annual In Vitro Fertilizations and Embryo Transfer conference. Reproductive Partners Fertility Center-San Diego is excited to again co-host the conference with UC San Diego Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad (IVI).
Reproductive Partner Fertility Center's Medical Director, Dr. Garzo Addresses Multiple Pregnancies in a Recent Publication in Fertility and Sterility
Dr. Garzo, a physician and Medical Director at Reproductive Partners Fertility Center - San Diego, recently published in Fertility and Sterility, the leading medical journal in Reproductive Medicine and the official publication of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
As the egg matures, it grows enormously in size and the number of mitochondria (the tiny batteries supplying energy) markedly increases so that each cell of the embryo will have enough until the blastocyst stage when they again start to replicate. With age, these tiny batteries start to run low on power, resulting in less energy being available for these critical functions.
