Jamie Stanhiser, M.D., M.S.C.R.

Jamie Stanhiser, MD, MSCR, is a board-certified physician who specializes in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, with special interests in fertility preservation, family building for LGBTQ and single parents by choice, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, amenorrhea (the absence of menstruation), and modifiable lifestyle factors in both natural fertility and infertility. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Reproductive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, and has published on the topics of assisted reproductive technology (ART), national in vitro fertilization (IVF) data analysis, intrauterine insemination, the psychosocial aspects of fertility and ART, omega-3 fatty acid supplementation and natural fertility, endometriosis, fibroids, Mullerian anomalies, and gynecologic surgery.

Dr. Stanhiser was honored for the Seminal Contribution to Fertility & Sterility in November 2017 and co-hosted their global journal club with her co-authors on their manuscript evaluating national IVF data on patient and cycle characteristics predicting high live birth rate. She is the recipient of numerous research awards including the prize paper in nutrition and fertility from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) annual meeting 2019.

Dr. Stanhiser’s ultimate goal is to help her patients fulfill their dreams of a family with excellent, compassionate, whole-person care.

Dr. Stanhiser earned her M.D. from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine after graduating with double majors in Human Biology and Human Development from the University of California, San Diego. She completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Cleveland Clinic, where she served as Senior Chief Administrative Resident. Dr. Stanhiser completed her training in her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also earned her Masters of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR).

In her free time, Dr. Stanhiser enjoys piano, learning the guitar, reading, weightlifting, and being active in outdoor adventures with her family.
